KW Landscape Architects Welcome Cynthia Dehlavi to Houston Office

KW Landscape Architects is pleased to announce the appointment of Cynthia Dehlavi as Director of Design for the firm headquartered in Houston, Texas. Cynthia is a professional landscape architect with over a decade of experience in commercial landscape design and is set to join the team effective January 2024.

In our ongoing transformation at KW, we are excited for Cynthia to further elevate our designs to the next level. As the previous Associate Director of Research + Design for OJB Landscape Architecture, Cynthia created and spearheaded an in-office research group that worked through a series of commercial landscape projects focusing on sustainability. Her transition to KW will allow her to continue her passion and commitment to crafting outdoor spaces with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.

Cynthia’s professional background encompasses a variety of project typologies, including institutional landscapes, mixed-use developments, master planning exercises, public parks, and roof gardens. She has a keen eye for aesthetics and a passion for innovative design practices. Cynthia aspires to heal our planet one landscape project at a time. Her goal is to design environments that connect people to nature, creating environmental stewards and helping communities feel their best.

Beyond leading the firm’s design department, Cynthia will be a pivotal mentor and guide across all three KW offices in Texas. Her expertise will assist the team through design processes, principles, and overall visioning for our projects.

A Houston native, Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston and later completed her Master of Landscape Architecture at Harvard University. Following her academic journey, she gained international experience at an architecture firm in the Netherlands. Upon returning to the U.S., Cynthia contributed to MIT’s design/build studios before ultimately returning to her alma mater at the University of Houston, where she taught design studios and research courses.
