Wesley Salazar Promoted to Partner at KW Landscape Architects
KW Landscape Architects is excited to announce the promotion of Wesley Salazar to Partner. Wesley is a magnetic leader who heads up the firm’s Central Texas office, located in San Antonio. Specializing in multi-family and master planned communities, Wesley leverages his expertise to manage award-winning projects and foster a collaborative working environment. Both a visionary and a meticulous project manager, Wes brings a fresh perspective to the KW Landscape Architects leadership team.
Wesley graduated from Texas A&M in 2006 and received a job offer to join KW Landscape Architects’ Houston team shortly after, where he spent the next nine years honing his landscape architecture and project management skills. In 2015, Wes wanted to move closer to family and jump into a new challenge of increasing the growth and efficiency of KW Landscape Architects’ San Antonio office. Shortly after his move to Central Texas, he took over managing the San Antonio office independently.
Known as a charismatic leader committed to empowering his team, Wes’ ability to translate the strong KW Landscape Architects culture to the San Antonio office has been crucial in expanding that team from three employees to nine, including one in the Austin area. In charge of leading the firm’s Human Resources efforts, Wes knows the importance of prioritizing people and fostering strong client relationships. Always future minded, Wes has his sights set on the next big challenge of opening and growing an official office in Austin, Texas within the next two years.
Founding Partner Darin Weinheimer notes that, “Wes is a dynamic, forward-thinking leader and I’m so excited to guide the firm into the future with him. His creative ideas, both firm-related and project-related, will help ensure KW Landscape Architects is a top-tier landscape architecture firm for years to come.”
Wesley has worked on several noteworthy projects throughout his career including Tavola, a 1,560-acre master planned community with a projected 2,000-home build out led by Friendswood Development. The award-winning project features unique entry towers with water features, a custom community identity and miles of greenbelt hike and bike trails. Additionally, Wes managed Young Ranch, a 400-acre master plan community located in the City of Katy, working diligently to develop an iconic community within budget. Wes partnered with Kirksey Architecture in Houston to renovate St. Luke’s Hospital in The Woodlands, working closely with hospital staff to develop courtyards and greenspace throughout the project. In San Antonio Wesley and his team completed Whisper Falls, a single family development with DR Horton, that at the time was the furthest project going West down Highway 90. At 7600 Broadway, Wesley is working alongside Embrey Partners to create one of the first on-structure developments in San Antonio that will radically alter the streetscape in Alamo heights. Construction is expected to be completed in 2023 and will feature an outdoor courtyard, dog parks, private yards, multifamily and office space.
