#KnowUsToLoveUs -Madonna of Materials

Cathleen Lynch

Known in the Office as: Madonna of Materials

Actual Name: Cathleen Lynch

Job Title: Senior Associate & Project Manager

What project at K&W do you feel most proud of? Why? Market Square Tower. We had a big budget which allowed us to really put in a lot of beautiful and intricate details. The fit and finish of it all is going to be exciting to see.

Why landscape architecture? I was initially looking into Architecture but I was reading the program packets and saw physics and I hate physics so then I kept flipping through and saw botany and horticulture and was like, yup that’s what I want to do.

Tell me 3 passions of yours: I’m passionate about my family, my child and contributing to the well-being of others through my work

What is your favorite part about working here? The people and my staff

What’s your favorite outdoor space to design? Hardscape. When you design hardscape, it’s like a puzzle you have to piece together.

What advice would you give someone who wants to be in this profession? You need to have a lot of patience. You also need to understand how customer-service oriented this profession is. That was not something I learned in college.

What college did you go to? I went to Texas A&M and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture

Where did you meet your spouse? I met him at my best friend’s wedding

If a genie gave you a wish, what would you wish for? 1,000 more wishes

Which store could you easily max out your credit card at? Anthropology

If you could have dinner with someone who is alive or dead, who would it be? The Duchess of Cambridge. She’s a fashionista, athletic and from everything I’ve read about her, despite her lifestyle, she tries to remain down-to-earth. She’s human just like us all.

Would you rather know it all or have it all? Have it all. Because if you know it all, you stop learning.

Call or text? Text.

Candy or popcorn? Popcorn.
