Nathaniel (Nate) Lewman, a central Indiana native, developed a passion for horticulture at an early age spending countless hours gardening in his grandparents’ backyard. His love for plant materials (and all things outdoors) led him to seek opportunities with various landscape companies in the Hoosier state. He followed his passion through school and graduated from Purdue University in 2012 with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Throughout his 6 years at K&W, Nate has worked on a variety of projects, including office buildings, mixed-use spaces and retail centers. His main focus, however, is master planned communities.
“I like the scale of Master Planned Communities and parks but I also like how detailed you can get with smaller spaces like a courtyard. I enjoy figuring out how I can piece together a courtyard to maximize the utility of the space.”
When Nate is not focused on the details of plant design and hardscapes, he enjoys fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Nate dreams of one day retiring as “Captain Nate” to fish the Florida Keys.
